Poised

There are a few enchanting "trails" right by Taipei that can blow your heart out. Of course, that's not a high mountain there, but: It does not matter if you're 30 or 300 meters away from the rock ... In both cases you would probably be similar dead ?

The king of these ridge walks is Wuliaojian (named after the mountain, which you can but do not have to climb). But also Huangdi Dian and the Pingxi Crags (combined with the visit of the Shifen Waterfall) are more than worth the short way out of Taipei!

Many thanks to Yvonne and double thanks to Angela for the entertaining company! The loop was worth it!

That was a more than worthy Taiwan graduation!

Without a photo, but nice: I recently talked to a young Taiwanese woman who, after telling me about the goddess Matsu, asked me to talk about German culture.

Since the topic was already with religion, I opened it to her, that in Germany the Christianity is the most widespread religion. But she had not heard of this religion yet ...
Then I started to talk about Jesus Christ. Quite basic. She had heard of Christmas before, but "this is very small and unimportant". But she found it incredibly exciting that Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus. And she had a real eye-opening experience when I explained why in the Western culture is the year 2019.
Then I asked if she knows what a Christmas tree is. (Logically, she did not know that.) Of course, she found it totally crazy that people cut off trees to put them in the living room (!!!).

For me it was exciting to tell and explain this to someone who does not even have a clue about it.
Nor, as I had a faint glimpse of Taiwan, before I came here. Travel is so nice.
