This entry should only read those who are seriously interested in things that are even older than me!<br \/>\nThe fact is that I was much more impressed than I expected. Persepolis are more than a few mostly 2,500 year old boulders. The dimensions in the face of columns up to 20 meters high and the richness of detail of the stone reliefs require far less imagination than at other ancient sites to imagine the former city. And the necropolis is absolutely Indiana Jones-worthy.<\/p>\n<p>It is believed that the city was not permanently inhabited, but was mainly used to celebrate the Persian New Year (Nowruz, the beginning of spring). (It can be seen in the repeated depictions in which a lion - he stands for the warm season - a bull - he stands for the cold season - bites in the buttocks.)
