One sunset, one night and one sunrise plus half a day we were allowed to spend on, in and over the meter-thick salt layer. Approximately 140 \u00d7 110 km, the area is large, estimated 10 billion tons of salt are still there.<\/p>\n<p>Both at sunset and sunrise the moon was (nearly full) the real star. The sun provided the best light. (From a personal point of view, I&#039;ve been able to take 2-3 photos, which are probably among my favorite photos ever.)<\/p>\n<p>The night we spent in a &quot;salt hotel&quot;, which is built entirely of salt inside: beds, tables, chairs ... Even the inner walls were built of salt bricks! Salt isolated but not better: the dinner we sat as always shivering without heating at the table.<\/p>\n<p>At sunrise, we went to the Isla Incahuasi - the absolute highlight: an island that rises from the salt desert and is overgrown by hundreds of years old cacti! An absolutely unreal appearance!<br \/>\nWonderful to look up into the distance, say goodbye to the night and enjoy the warm colors of the early days! Absolutely uplifting!<\/p>\n<p>Last but not least, we drove a few tens of kilometers through the salt desert by car and - of course - used the perfect horizon for the usual silly photos ...
