Queenstown is also called "adventure capital of the world", so "world capital of the adventures".
\nClimbing, canyoning, speedboat, paragliding, downhill mountain biking, skydiving and of course bungee jumping. The first permanent facility in the world has been here since 1988 ... Meanwhile, in Queenstown, you can fall down with something from anywhere. And in the winter skiing is done. In fact, the place really offers some adventure for everyone.<\/p>\n
Helpful is the perfect location of Queenstown on the large Lake Wakatipu on the eastern edge of the Alps, which keeps a lot of rain and wind. An impudence to live there. And I would like to say that there is no place worldwide with a higher density of outdoor shops!<\/p>\n
Meinereiner has not taken for the adventure rather the many hundred dollars in the hand, which are actually necessary for it. I simply wandered and actually played a lot of disc golf and got to know people.<\/p>\n
There is a course - perfectly centrally located on a peninsula - which is massively advertised by the city to the tourists (as one of the budget events). I came across Mikey relatively quickly, his name being local strip club DJ and running disc lexicon. In addition, an absolute ambassador of the sport. Also Ella, his relaxed and motivated disc golf Padawan. What quickly became two days of hardcore disc golfing in this nice company. But of course, local knowledge was good too, as far as eating out and more concerned.<\/p>\n
In addition, I made a short hike on Queenstown Hill and a really neat and great hike to Ben Lomond with more than 1300 meters difference in altitude. But the fantastic 360 \u00b0 view of the green mountains was really worth the effort!
\nEven if it was very windy (see video below)! On the way back you could lean forward in the wind. Almost like Wingsuit fly without wingsuit ? If the wind stopped short, you just had to be careful that you do not head down into the valley ...<\/p>\n
