No more holidays! Here we go!
After the stop-off, this time from Europe to the West: Moin Peru! (Maybe more like Buenas Dias ...)
It starts in the capital Lima. What in winter (yes, this is winter!) Means: clouds, never really never never sun and blatant temperature fluctuations between 19 degrees (early afternoon) and 17 degrees (in the middle of the night)! Quite rarely there are sometimes four degrees difference.
Lima is a good 100 meters above the sea (so average), you can see on the photos with the cliffs quite well, why that is so. It's also fantastic to walk up there. And it has to be much more fantastic in the summer (so January). Now it is only fantastic if you find clouds, really never never never sun, and therefore moderate visibility, in order.
Peru is considered to be the site of only six "primordial civilizations" and is the only one of these places in the southern hemisphere and the oldest civilization in America.
Here people have been doing pretty constructive things over 4000 years ago. These items are collected in part in the Grand Museum Larco. So jars, jewelry and stuff.
As an eternal child I found the "erotic art" the most entertaining. So rather porn. That's why the photo gallery is now really 18! Dear children, do not look at that !!
Well, obviously (and fortunately), the people who created it about 2,000 to 2,800 years ago had other ideas of "indecent". So the vessels are very, very, very explicitly advised. The collection is all the more valuable as the Catholic gentlemen who conquered Peru in the middle of the second millennium did much to break the pieces.
Little cultural explanation that you can assign to the photos:
Seeds are life givers ... Residents of the realm of the dead can only do it themselves. Yes, one dead man can only drink from the penis, otherwise the patent will not work. The woman with the biggest mumu is mother earth. The men who personally look after penes of others are shamans who know what speeds healing. Everybody, from the top to the bottom, is allowed to have animals anyway. And the hand is also allowed.
Change of subject.
Great time to be in Peru: the football men's national team has sensationally reached the final at the Copa Americana. I participated in the public viewing of the semi-finals (against defending champion Chile) and of course it was a blast!
Whether on Sunday in the final for Peru is in it, I dare to doubt. Against Brazil. In Rio. In the Maracana Stadium. On the other hand: as a blatant outsider you can only win!
Below is a semi-final video of the (defended) penalty of the Chileans in the final minute, which then somehow passed into the final whistle. So the mood was good.
I'm curious to see what's going on at the final.
And as Lima usually looks like, I may write another time.
