Did you recognize the little orange dot on the cover of this blog entry? ... It's on!
Again, nature has come up with something nice: the Taroko Gorge! And the people have something spectacular about it: the "Zhuilu Old Road"! Whatever has moved people to build a path here, it's one of the most entertaining trails I've ever walked.
But even if you are not running straight down the precipice (survival tip: when running on the way and not look into the area!), You can enjoy the dimensions of the landscape: beautiful high, nice steep!
The waterways are partially bordered by marble!
There are caves on the Baiyang Trail that have so many cracks that it rains (see photo and video below) - spectacular! And it's only a matter of (hopefully very long) time until one collapses and a few tourists are quite unlucky ...
Especially if something happens like the day after I left: an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 and a duration of 33 seconds. In contrast to last year (6.4) luckily without dead, but "only" with injured, for example, on the Lushui Trail, which I also went.
Because the Zhuilu Trail is so sensational (and access limited), I had another permit for the trail in the evening (10 days later, the next free slot). Of course, the valley with almost all hiking trails is closed until further notice, but I am happy to have done that "just before".
I hope that, if not me, some hikers will soon be able to enjoy the path and the spectacular scenery again!
UPDATE 26.4.2019:
I Zhuilu Lucky! The day before my appointment, most trails have been released. So I could enjoy it a second time! And again it was amazing! Under the cave video therefore still a second mini picture gallery as well as another video.
That looks incredibly spectacular! I have to admit that in my mind, Taiwan has always been a kind of East Asian industrial hotspot. Shame on me ... Enjoy it !!!
