So slowly I can be sure that this is only read by those who are interested in hiking or at least "moving through nature".
So I just keep going.
Because I made such a beautiful hike in the Abel Tasman National Park that I want to rave again ... Oh, just look at pictures!
The loop was that of Totaranui along the Abel Tasman Coastal Track to Whariwharangi Hut and then back over Gibbs Hill. 21 km through brutally beautiful nature and with all the perspectives that the landscape on the coast gives.
Do not forget the Seperation Point! That's when I thought I was all alone. I jump and stumble cheerfully from rock to rock to get to the water, when I hear just behind me an unimaginably aggressive scream!
In the shadow of the rocks, a seal must have lain, which now has built up pretty good a few feet behind me. I was now between him and the sea and I had to take a pretty stupid way to get back. So: the sullen-looking companion in the photo is really sullen, and not too close!
Then I visited the Rawhiti Cave, a special cave because the stalactites grow towards the light because of the plants that live on them. Well, I'm not a biologist or geologist, that's why I just say "phytokarst". But it looks impressive!
I had to go slowly towards the ferry and on the way I made disc golf station in Nelson. From Nelson I had to watch the beginning of the big fire, which unfortunately only got bigger and worse afterwards. My pictures are from the first day of the fire and we are about 30 kilometers away. Just the night after, the area of the fire had doubled.
Now, seven days later, the fight against the fire is still going on (Google "Nelson bush fire").
The next day I'm on the ferry along the Marlborough Sounds, but the weather was rather bad and I've seen so much here that I'm not impressed anymore
Good that the ferry trip fell on the bad weather day. Focussing the horizon is not so easy from a certain swell ...
Bye South Island! You are already a damn horny piece (earth).
The guy doesn't look that grumpy - in Germany 3/4 of all people constantly look like that 🙂
