What I spent the past days with:
- Miss the tournament in Bayreuth, for the first time after 15 years straight, and play in compensation for the Melbourne Hat tournament. After three months really much Ultimate!
- Unexpectedly meet there Magnus, a dear and well-known player from Oslo. So I had no chance on the title as a player with the longest journey ...
- See how an Ultimate Party is ended at 00.38 ? Because of the 200 players only 70 showed up. So the usual dirty dozen moved on to a club. There it was great!
- Otherwise experience beautiful people, beautiful serious Ultimate, but unfortunately not enough silly fun tournament culture.
- Then drive to the Wilsons Prom National Park. Breathtakingly beautiful! Really! I made the Three Bays Walk (again green-blue) and wanted to do the Sealers Cove Walk the next day (supposed to be the best day hike)
- Look forward to Squeaky Beachs (as the name implies) squeaking sand (listen to video below). This only happens with perfectly round, dry grains of sand. Scientists interested in the natural sciences are welcome to go deeper into research, why it squeaks ... It's not that trivial.
- Find that it was naïve to play a tournament on hard soil after months without regular training. Unfortunately, I could not put my shoes on and off ... The back ...
- Early return to Melbourne. Before, during and after a lot of work on the fascia. Plus the usual procedure: doctor's appointment and physiotherapy. The guy was absolutely awesome (it's the Gluteus Medius). It will be better!
Many thanks to some very good people: My hosts Cullum (and roommates and cats) as well as the awesome Baker Street! An extra cheer for MVP Ellie, who arranged Physiotherapy and Baker Street!
